Settling In

I sit here tonight feeling the gentle rocking of Sans Souci, settling in for my first night sleeping aboard; gentle music playing, a little whiskey in hand, a sublime calm upon me.

I’m feeling some of the day’s labors in my back. Dad came over this evening to help bend on the mainsail as conditions were perfect. Earlier this morning, I moved over a bunch of clothing and galley gear. More to do but I’m getting things stowed in an organized way.

Yesterday, the previous owner, Jeff came by and we commissioned the engine, hot/cold water system, refrigerator, A/C system, and heat. Tomorrow is the in water survey and sea trial. This is the last step in the purchase process. If there are any issues with systems not tested in January, there’s money in escrow to cover it.
Saturday I’ll move up to my home for the summer in Fall River- Borden Light Marina. For now, back to relaxing and reading a book.
